Program Overview

Learn and Grow Together at The Carbon Academy!

Do you want to get your high school diploma? Do you want to help your child become a great reader? The Carbon Academy is here to help your whole family. Our program is free and fun!

Who can join?

  • Adults who want to study for the GED or HiSET test.
  • Children (ages 4 to 12) who want to have fun while learning to read.
  • Families who live in Macon County.
What will we do?
  • For Adults: You will get your own computer to use in class. You can study at your own speed. Our teachers will help you with Math, Reading, and Writing.
  • For Kids: Children are tutored, receive homework help, play games on tablets that help them learn letters and sounds, and more. We also read great books together
  • For Families: Parents and kids spend time together playing and reading. You will even get free books to take home and keep for your own library.
