Program Overview

M-POWER Ministries offers literacy, GED, and job readiness classes. Students testing below 4th grade reading will receive a one-on-one tutor. Students testing above 4th grade attend classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our class sizes are small so all students receive individualized attention.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Joe came to us when he was homeless and in his forties. He is the father of six children and needed a high school diploma to improve his earning potential. In just over a year, he earned his diploma, started an apprenticeship program for carpentry, and has moved into an apartment. Not only has he improved his own life, but he has served as an example to his children. They are now able to spend weekends with him.

Donald made it through 6th grade and then became addicted to video games. He came to M-POWER when he was 22. After three weeks of class, he had the confidence to find a part-time job at a local grocery store. He became a GED graduate and started working full-time at an auto parts store. He has now moved to a car dealership and is exploring the field of IT security.

Katlyn dropped out of high school and fell into a life of drugs and alcohol. She found M-POWER while she was in a nearby rehab facility and was able to earn her degree in less than six weeks. She graduated from the rehab program, has her GED, and is pursing college.
