Literacy Volunteers of Seneca County is a non-profit organization that offers one-to-one tutoring at no cost to adults seeking help to improve reading, writing or English language skills.

Making a Difference:
Literacy Volunteers of Seneca County is an accredited affiliate of Literacy New York, Inc. We are proud of the commitment to attain literacy goals that is demonstrated by both students and tutors enrolled in our programs.

The mission of Literacy Volunteers is to assist adults in developing functioning literacy skills. This includes improving the student's ability to read and write, perform basic math functions, and to use computers, as well as to speak and comprehend the English language. This service is provided at no cost to students. We utilize trained volunteers to provide these confidential educational services through a learner-centered approach that values and honors individual student needs and goals.
