Program Overview

For 35 years, Literacy Volunteers of America–Prince William (LVA-PW) has helped adults in Prince William County improve their reading, writing, and English skills. We offer free classes for adults who want to learn English, build basic literacy skills, improve health understanding, and reach personal or work goals.

Our programs are open to adults who live or work in Prince William County. Many of our students are working adults who want to better support their families, feel more confident, and take part in their communities. We respect each learner's life experience and learning goals.

Classes are taught by trained volunteers and are held at community locations, online, and at our office. At LVA-PW, we believe literacy helps people build stronger, healthier, and more independent lives.

LVA-PW offers classes in: Conversation (Basic English), ESL, Digital Literacy, Citizenship, Health Literacy, and Work Readiness.
