Program Overview

Literacy Together provides one-on-one and small group tutoring through three programs.

  • Adult Literacy provides volunteer tutors to adults who lack basic reading and writing skills and/or want to earn a high school equivalency diploma.
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) provides volunteer tutors to immigrants who seek to improve their English skills or pass the US Naturalization exam
  • Youth Literacy provides volunteer tutors to children and youth from low-income homes who read, write, and/or spell below grade level

Instruction is provided by trained volunteer tutors. Literacy Together serves approx. 350 students annually.
