Program Overview
Academic classes in adult literacy and GED preparation
The Literacy Project offers small, comfortable classes taught at three levels: beginning (basic literacy), intermediate (pre-GED) and advanced (GED). Our professional instructors are assisted by volunteer tutors. Students work at their own pace, towards their own goals, in a supportive setting of their peers. With rolling admission, students may begin classes at any time during the year.
Transitions programs to help students pursue college, vocational training and work
The Literacy Project offers hands-on training, instruction, and counseling to help students succeed in school and at work. Staff counselors help students set personal, academic and career goals and work with them to build the skills they'll need to meet these goals. We also help students identify and overcome the barriers they'll face along the way by connecting students with community resources.
