Program Overview

Literacy Chicago provides free adult education programs that help learners strengthen reading, writing, English language, digital, and workforce skills. Through ESL, Adult Basic Education, GED preparation, and career-bridge programs, students build confidence as they prepare for employment, further training, and active participation in their communities. Classes are offered in welcoming neighborhood locations and online, supported by volunteer tutors, instructors, and strong community partnerships. The organization focuses on practical learning that connects literacy with real life goals such as career advancement, family stability, and lifelong learning.
