Adrian Rea Literacy Center

Program Overview

The Adrian Rea Literacy Center was established in 2007 for the purpose of assisting adults 18 years of age and older who desire to improve their reading, writing, and English-speaking skills. The Center serves both first language English speakers as well as non English-speaking adults. It is the only adult literacy center in the Adrian area which assists adults who are at or below a fourth grade reading level.

Each prospective learner is assessed upon entrance into the
program to determine her/his reading, writing, and English-speaking skills as well as they goals they which to achieve. An individualized program is then determined for each of the learners, and they are assigned a tutor for one-to-one
tutoring two hours a week.
