Program Overview
The Literacy Center is a social benefit organization that is dedicated to improving adult literacy and education thereby strengthening our community. Our aim is to benefit the community by educating adults by improving their reading abilities, high school equivalency preparation and workplace skills. Our community needs assistance when it comes to improving adult education and The Literacy Center is dedicated to assisting individuals to enable them to live and work independently. Since 1966, the nonprofit organization has helped thousands of men and women better their lives by improving their reading abilities, high school equivalency preparation, and workplace skills as a pathway to opportunities that will result in a better way of life with fewer struggles. The Literacy Center offers an array of services including classes that center on learning how to think critically, calculate, convert units and complete various problems and tutoring in the five Indiana State guideline areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
