Program Overview

Life Skills Workshops (LSW) program encourages and educates individuals and families to take positive action in enhancing literary skills. It was created for the adults who have children enrolled in any of our programs or who live in one of the neighborhoods we serve. These workshops strive to stabilize home life and promote self-empowerment while building relationships with their children and adjusting to the demands literacy in our culture requires.

The program is a series of classes offered to low income, multi-ethnic, multi-lingual communities in Stafford County.

Stafford Junctions' culture of education is designed to encourage success by advocating for the families to receive collaborative partner services, educating families on the importance of implementing learned best practices; by empowering the families to use services through personal outreach; and by offering transportation, childcare, and translation services. Without the assistance of Life Skills Workshops, many of our clients would not have the knowledge or access to other services in the community that can aid in the finding employment, aiding children secure their educational future as well as adjusting to cultural changes.
