Program Overview

The Lehman ALC offers free BE, HSE, and ESOL classes. Morning classes meet from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM anywhere from two to five days a week, Monday through Friday. Evening classes meet from 6:00 to 8:45 PM two to four days a week, from Monday through Thursday.

Mission Statement

The Lehman College Adult Learning Center (ALC) has been providing educational opportunities to low income and immigrant Bronx residents age 18 and up since 1986. We provide classes for 800 students a year in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Basic Literacy (BE) and High School Equivalency preparation (HSE). Students are our core constituency. We provide thoughtful, innovative instruction, skilled counseling, and a welcoming, nurturing environment.

Hours of operation: 9:00 AM to 8:45 PM Mon-Thu; 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Fri

Cost info: The Lehman College Adult Learning Center is a free adult education program to learners 19 and older.
