Learn & Play Tampa Bay

Program Overview

Launched in January 2019, this mobile play-based bilingual program was created to deepen the museum's connection with the community of Tampa Bay, creating spaces for play and family engagement for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers living in under-resourced communities. With a mission for making play equitable, accessible & inclusive for all families, Learn & Play Tampa Bay (LPTB) holds weekly 90-minute play sessions in 10 county-wide community locations free of cost with year-round programming consisting of educational stations, bilingual circle time, thematic crafts & songs, and introduction to early literacy and math. LPTB is the only school readiness-focused caregiver class which engages multi-age groups of children at various developmental stages in one place with trained early learning staff modeling play-based learning for the adults.
