ABOUT COMMUNITY CENTER OF NORTHERN WESTCHESTER -- Founded in 1992, CCNW is a 501c3 nonprofit, social services organization that provides essential services to underprivileged residents in Westchester County. Our mission is to improve the well-being and self-sufficiency of neighbors in need by providing food, clothing, programs, and other resources. We are committed to treating all with dignity and respect.
CCNW serves approximately 8,000 individuals per year. Our goal is not only to feed the needy, but also to help them return to self-sufficiency. Therefore, we also operate a clothing bank, and offer English language and construction skills classes, job searching assistance, and more to help our patrons to become independent. We also offer additional services to support health and wellness (free health screenings, flu shots, breast cancer awareness, nutrition workshops) and special drives and programs help to offset the financial burden on families during times of economic stress (e.g., holiday food, children's sleepwear, school supplies, prom attire, furniture exchanges, summer camp and academic scholarships, assistance with tax preparation).
