Program Overview

Knowledge-First, Inc. provides educational services that inspire exceptionality while providing for the attainment of proficiencies that lead to lifelong resiliency.

Since 2001, the Knowledge-First Empowerment Center has been specializing in preparing today's learners to meet today's educational and employment demands and the systemic challenges of tomorrow. The Knowledge-First Empowerment Center provides educational services, including afterschool tutoring, summer academic and enrichment camps and adult literacy services. These educational components augment the reasoning capability and maximize the unique potential of all learners. We provide various opportunities to engage and contribute in higher level thinking activities as we fashion our academic and enrichment components to inspire critical and diverse thinking. Throughout the learning cycle, we work collaboratively with our students to illustrate the relationship between the acquisition of knowledge and the personal relevancy of this information. Because of this attention to both subject matter and more importantly, to the students themselves, our learners soon become self-directed in their thirst for knowledge. Furthermore, understanding that education not only addresses the intellectual capacities, we also develop character, healthy lifestyles and proficiencies that lead to life-long resiliency. Our adult literacy services include not only academic services, but financial, computer and workforce literacy as well. Through our empowermental approach, Knowledge-First inspires learners to value the educational environment, themselves and the contributions of others. We believe, as did Plato, that the purpose and ultimate value of education is not to stick thoughts into the pupils' head, but to inspire them to think for themselves. Wisdom~Honor~Perseverance
