Jumpstart GED Preparation Program

Program Overview

Through Dress for Success Central Virginia's Jumpstart program, women gain the opportunity to improve their basic literacy skills, prepare to take the GED Exam, explore opportunities for employment and post-secondary training , and continuously engage in workforce and leadership development activities. As a result these women will be inspired and equipped to advance their careers, initiate social change, become assets to their communities, impact the lives of those around them, and ensure brighter futures for their families.

Participants attend 12 weeks of classes with guidance from a well trained instructor, are paired with a professional mentor from the local business community, eligible to earn an educational scholarship, and participate in Dress for Success' professional development programs.

Through our supplemental programs that focus on financial literacy, leadership and civic participation the women that we serve emerge as leaders who are self- sufficient and economically stable.
