Program Overview

The Johnson County Adult Literacy Program trains volunteer tutors to assist adults who are interested in improving their basic reading and writing skills, basic math skills, and English as a second language skills. JCALP also is able to help people with reading difficulties to improve reading and writing skills. We provide a tutor for people who are attending a certified HiSet program and are in need of one-on-one assistance with their studies.

Our mission is to assist adults living in Johnson County, MO and surrounding communities in developing basic reading, speaking, writing, and computational skills in order to improve their ability to deal with modern society and thus gain a higher standard of living.
