Program Overview

Operated by Elon's Center for Access and Success, the “It Takes a Village" Project (Village Project) is a pre-K through 5th grade program offered at no cost to families. We provide tutoring and specialized learning services as well as a two-week summer day camp for students attending Title I schools in the Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS). Our program focuses heavily on academic outcomes, instructional materials, attendance, quality of instructors, parental involvement and other enriching opportunities.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Student's who are struggling with phonics significantly improving their reading fluency after targeted tutoring sessions, … and a group of students showing noticeable progress in basic math skills like addition and subtraction. (Village Teacher)

I think I had a positive impact on student learning by being encouraging and helpful in the classroom. I worked with certain students on their reading skills and helping them improve their vocabulary. (Village Volunteer)
