In the Beginning Literacy Company

Program Overview

In the Beginning Literacy Company was founded by Shaneena Stinson-Rolfe. Shaneena is a former educator and literacy coach. She holds an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum Instruction. Her desire is to inform and support the community and local organizations through education and literacy. ITB is an affiliate to the nonprofit organization, SPECS: Socially, Physically, Educationally, Culturally, Spiritually.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

• Training provided by ITB is recognized by the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
• ITB is hosting a community literacy event for Black History Month, 2018.
• In 2017, ITB held successful presentations at the Memphis Public Library in Cordova, TN. Participants included children's ministry leaders, child care providers, and early childhood educators. The title of the presentation was The Importance of Early Literacy.
