Program Overview

YWCA Brooklyn offers English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes use a workforce readiness curriculum and incorporate activities such as interviewing skills, research, resume writing and professional communications. Our citizenship classes provide eligible immigrants who are eager to become American citizens with the resources they need to do so, and all participants are eligible to take free weekly onsite technology workshops providing training in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Internet navigation. In collaboration with our expert community partners, we also provide Know Your Rights legal workshops for ESOL and Citizenship class participants with referrals for confidential, free individual legal assessments, and we facilitate linkages to culturally and linguistically appropriate confidential services, including health care, case management, housing, domestic violence and entitlements.

All Immigrant Women's Services are offered free of charge and no ID is required to participate.

**Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not currently offering our citizenship classes remotely, but they will resume when restrictions are lifted in New York City. Our ESOL and computer literacy classes are still being offered remotely.**
