The Children's Museum has been a leader in our community for Pre-K and early childhood development programs. The Ignite Initiative targets children aged 6-14.
Through the Ignite initiative and partnering with area schools, and community and homeschooling groups we want to make an even greater impact.
We have a wide variety of educational programs available for preK-12th grade students. Please check our website www.The-Childrens-Museum.org for an updated list.
In addition to our in-house programs, the Museum runs numerous outreach services to area schools and like minded organizations.
The mission of The Children's Museum is to enrich the lives of people
in the region by fostering a lifelong love of learning through
enjoyable interactive programs and exhibits that bring out the
imagination in every child and the child in every visitor.
To provide hands-on educational experiences to children of all ages
To extend educational outreach services to the region
To promote community involvement in the Children's Museum
To seek and develop resources to maintain the activities of the Children's Museum
Hours of operation: 10am-4pm / Tuesday-Saturday
Cost info: Regular Museum admission is $6.50 per person (children under 2 are always free). We often run promotional days with reduced or free admission. Student and Volunteer Success Stories
- Testimonials from teachers whose students attended our programs include;
"All the students were actively involved throughout the lesson"
"Even the students who tend to be disinterested were engaged."
"I wish my students could have a program like this every week."
"The field trips for Orange Street Elementary students are paid for by the H.O.S.T group. Sometimes there may not be a lot of money in the budget for a fun yet educational field trip. The first grade students at Orange Street loved visiting the Children's Museum. Not only were they learning, they were also able to interact with everything they were learning about. Which I believe makes learning even more fun."
The Children's Museum is the only facility of its kind in a 70 mile radius. The Museum serves the pre-K and the more than34,000 school-aged children of Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Union and Snyder counties as well as their parents and care givers. Additionally, we provide support services to schools in the 5-county area.
