Program Overview
The I-Best program at Tri-County Technical College is a workforce development and college skills program, intentionally designed to help under-resourced and alternative students overcome the boundaries that prevent them from pursuing higher education and more, fulfilling career opportunities. We offer FREE certificates in Manufacturing Production and Healthcare. We also offer a FREE non-certificate pathway with a focus on college skills and career exploration. The program is one academic semester (about 14 weeks) and classes meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our Pendleton campus.

Before coming to the I-BEST program, Ronnie was living on the street and struggling with addiction. He was in and out of the local shelter program and struggling to get on his feet. Fortunately, the shelter got him connected with a local rehab facility, and they encouraged him to try for his GED. After completing rehab and his GED, the Adult Education office advised him to consider I-BEST. Ronnie was with us for one semester and earned his Certificate in Manufacturing Production. After graduation, he landed a job almost immediately. Currently, Ronnie is working the night shift so he can pursue his Associate's Degree in CNC Machining. By the end of 2025, he will be finished with that program and he already has a full-time job lined up when he graduates.
