Program Overview

HomeStrong USA's Financial Empowerment Program was created specifically to help young adults make responsible financial decisions and better prepare them for the future and obtaining jobs. While partnering with workforce development agencies, employment agencies and schools, HomeStrong USA provides knowledge and valuable tools about:

• Money management

• Budgeting

• Savings

• Credit

• Banking

In addition, HomeStrong USA provides Homeownership Education and Foreclosure Prevention Counseling. As a HUD-Approved Counseling Agency and certified Keep Your Home California provider, HomeStrong USA is creating financially responsible families and sustainable homeowners.

One unique component of the HomeStrong Financial Empowerment Program is its commitment to helping our veterans and senior citizens. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, there are over 1.8 million Veterans living in the state of California. The Inland Valley alone comprises over 29% of the California Veteran population. San Bernardino and Riverside County alone is comprised of over 242,000 Veterans, which represents 8% of the total population living in these two counties. These astounding numbers are due to the fact that there is a large military footprint in the Inland Empire. There are three active military bases; 29 Palms Marine Base, March AFB and Fort Irwin Army Base; and a fourth, Norton Air Force Base, which operated from 1942 to 1994.
