Hawthorne Education Center Adult and Family Literacy Program offers a variety of programs to adults age 17 and older: Adult Basic Skills, Citizenship Preparation, English as a Second Language, GED Preparation, Rochester Family Literacy and Work Skills.
Adults, 17 years and older (who are not enrolled in another K-12 program) can improve their skills in reading, writing, math and computer. Face to face classes are available with a teacher, as well as computer-based programs for use both in and away from school. These classes can help you get prepared for college and/or employment.
Hawthorne Education Center's mission is to provide opportunities for adults to gain control over their lives by enabling them to practice, learn from, and to the best of their abilities, master the strategies required for responsible citizenship, productive employment, and self-sufficiency.
Hours of operation: Mon + Thurs 9am-4pm, Tues + Wed 9am-8pm
Cost info: Some students pay tuition, some do not based on visa/residency type.
