Program Overview
HFM BOCES helps adults improve education and find jobs.
-Improve: reading, writing, and math
-Study for your GED: complete your high school education.·
-Learn English: We offer ESL classes for people who want to speak, read, and write better in English.
-Job Training: We have a special training program to help bi-lingual adults become teacher aides.
-Locations: You can find our Literacy Zones in Amsterdam and Gloversville. We also teach at the jails in Montgomery and Fulton counties.
-Extra Support: We help you set goals and find other groups in the community that can help you succeed.

"N" was an English language learner who went through ESL classes. She now works for the program helping other ESL students.
"K" completed her GED studies at the Literacy Zone. She became the receptionist for the program.
"J" completed his GED and went to community college. Now he is a Certified Peer Advocate helping other people through recovery.
"M" completed the job training and ESL programs. She now works as a teacher aide in her daughter's school.
