Program Overview

Youth Changes is dedicated to empowering Nashville's young people to reach their full potential. We use prevention and education as a way to strengthen families and build safer, smarter, and more productive adults. We work with teens and vulnerable individuals throughout their lifecycle, providing support and resources to help them navigate the challenges of adolescence and adulthood. Grounded in mutual aid, we strive to create a community of care and support and to react nimbly to whatever needs arise in the neighborhoods we serve.

The HERE Afterschool Mentorship program serves teens ages 14-18 in Nashville as an alternative to school discipline, replacing suspension or expulsion as a solution for behavioral issues with enrichment, mentoring, and empowerment. Our curriculum teaches self development, relationship building, conflict resolution, and decision making skills. Teens meet twice weekly to learn social emotional learning skills in a fun environment, growing through activities like gardening, academics, the arts, and more.
