Program Overview

Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA Area, Inc. is a nonprofit human services agency and network of not-for-profit businesses
serving five West Virginia counties & four Kentucky counties, whose mission is "to empower people to overcome employment barriers and to help strengthen individuals, families & communities."

Since 1972, Goodwill of KYOWVA has been training individuals with barriers to employment. An advocate for lifelong learning, we offer educational opportunities that address the needs of this
region, such as basic employment skills, life skills, & literacy skills: all challenges to long-term employment. Our training covers more than just job skills ~ it tackles financial knowledge, stress management & family issues. Also, in support of families living financially independent, we provide money management, credit and bankruptcy counseling, and tax preparation services to more than 2,000 people annually. Our clientele comes from a myriad of backgrounds: economically, physically, educationally, & emotionally, and yet, they come for one reason ~ a better quality of life. We offer people the first rung on the ladder of successful high-quality employment.
