Program Overview

Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO) is a reentry and diversion program for people aged 16-24 who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.

In collaboration with the New York City Department of Education (DOE), GOSO has established a high school equivalency program that is operated onsite at our service center in East Harlem. Students aged 17 or over can pursue their TASC through our Pathways to Graduation (P2G) program. Classes are taught by DOE educators, and class sizes are kept small to ensure students receive individual attention. Daily tutoring is provided by Petey Greene Program tutors to the students who need it. Due to COVID-19, we are utilizing a blended learning model of online instruction and in-person classes when it is safe to do so. GOSO can provide laptops and mobile hotspots to students who need them to access classes.
