Genesis ESL

Program Overview

Genesis ESL is a free English program for adult learners in the local community. The program is open to adults of all backgrounds, including immigrants, refugees, and non-native English speakers. Students do not need to be church members, and no prior English experience is required. Classes focus on practical English used in daily life, such as conversation, reading, writing, and listening. Lessons help students communicate at work, talk with doctors and schools, shop, and use community services with confidence. Classes are offered at multiple levels, from Beginner to Advanced, and meet twice a week during 12–14 week spring and fall semesters. Genesis ESL meets at Genesis United Methodist Church in Cary, North Carolina. The program is non-proselytizing and does not include religious instruction. Classes are taught by trained volunteers in a welcoming and supportive environment. Our goal is to help adults learn English, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging in the community.
