Program Overview
The GED Drop Out Recovery Program will serve students 16-24 who have dropped out of high school and are seeking a GED diploma. Partnerships with Dollar General Literacy Foundation and other local Literacy programs. Students will participate in onsite and online preparation classes. Study materials will be provided including practice test & GED Test vouchers. The program is free (but students must attend an orientation and meet certain criteria) enrollment begins June 30, 2018, by calling 404-288-1910. Orientation dates to be announced. Classes begin the Fall 2018 through Spring 2019.
Student and Volunteer Success Stories
In 2016 A student enrolled who had recently lost his mother to cancer. He had no siblings and did not know his father.He dreamed of attending Full Sail University and pursue a degree in Digital Arts. In 2017, the student completed his GED and enrolled through a scholarship to Full Sail.
In 2017 three students who had dropped out of high school obtained their GED diploma after completing both the online and in class preparation classes. Students have continued on in new careers and college.
