Program Overview
The Academic Achievement Center at Helms College offers a GED preparation course to assist those who have attended high school but did not graduate. Individuals, 17 or older, wishing to take the High School Equivalency Exam in one or all the subject areas may apply to attend the GED preparation program.
This program is fully funded by Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA at no cost to its participants. It is an independent-study program assisted by a tutor and a variety of educational resources. This study opportunity is offered in English and Spanish. The program is designed to prepare students to take the 4-subject GED test within 6-12 months from the date of registration. This developmental education program started in January 2012.
