Program Overview

The mission of the LIU12 Franklin County Literacy Council (FCLC) is to aid low-literate adults in the development of basic literacy skills.

LIU12 FCLC has been empowering adults through literacy since 1985 by providing free one-on-one tutors for students lacking basic literacy skills. We are part of Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12's Adult Education programs and we are a 501(c)(3) agency. We are funded by donations and grants from community and government organizations (United Way, F&M Trust, PDE), and individual contributors.

FCLC provides free programs for: Adult Basic Education (ABE); English as a Second Language (ESL); Improved employability skills, (pre-GED), and workforce skills.

FCLC does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ancestry, age, sex or disability.

Your gift of Literacy may be the most significant gift someone receives in their life. Thank you. FCLC's Tax ID number is 23-1743636.
