Program Overview

FICS has a computer lab, tutors and a volunteer program to assist the community in improving their literacy.

Mission Statement

We PARTNER with communities across Florida to help them achieve their goals through research, education, training and services. We serve about 1000 people per year in two FICS Multiucultural Family Centers (one in Ruskin, one in Town n Country) and our Morgan Woods Park location.

Hours of operation: 9 AM - 7:30 PM

Cost info: Youth programs and educational programs do not have a cost. Some programs, like our 7 AM - 7 PM Summer Program have a cost of $45/week. Other programs that charge include zumba and yoga.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

I have been volunteering with FICS for close five years now, and have enjoyed every bit of my involvement. From the staff
to more importantly the community, both find ways to show appreciation for your efforts. It is really impressive
how community driven this non-profit is.
During the events where we all come together, to acknowledge the achievements of the youth who participate in the free after-school program, you get the feeling that you are a part of large family. I feel honored to be a part of this family.

Program’s Demographics/Metrics

We serve multicultural populations and are open to everyone. We call ourselves multicultural and bilingual in English and Spanish but we are multilingual in reality. 88% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Parents struggle with high costs of rent and food, often having to chose between the two.
