Program Overview
FAMILY LITERACY of PROACTION-
It's never too early to build the skills for learning and success! One way adults can help babies and children become strong learners is by reading to and with them. Pro Action's Family Literacy programs give families the tools to get into the habit of reading with their children.Through this program, adults learn the benefits of reading to and bonding with children. Children gain a love of books and reading that helps prepare them to start school with a strong foundation for learning.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories
"When my son was born, I had a hard time talking to him. My worker brought out books for me to read to him. Through reading to my child, I have become comfortable talking to him. Now I talk and read to him all the time" from a parent in the Read to Me Steuben home visiting program
"It was a great program. it was through this program that I discovered he had a sensory issue. I loved talking to the other parents and educators and sharing experiences. The books with the activity ideas is great. I would love to see this program continue and include older children in higher grades." from a parent in the Pathways to Kindergarten: Steps to Success parent-child program
