Program Overview

The ELL program focuses on learning English through reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills required to get a job, get promoted, and communicate in the community. Students expand their knowledge of the English language and practice everyday conversation and real life situations using computer programs, hands-on activities, and small group projects.

This program offers a broad foundation of English and language skills to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions. ELL classes provide students with the language skills required for locating a job, interviewing, time management, dress code, communication/body language, and conversation in the workplace. The content includes job search sources, job applications, resumes, scheduling and keeping appointments, personal responsibility, social interaction, following and asking for instructions, completing a task, and setting goals.
The iTECH ELL program is comprehensive and includes seven levels of skills for ELL listed by the Florida Department of Education (Florida Department of Education)
