English for Successful Living (ESL) is an English as a Second Language program that meets the needs of all non English speaking adults who seek to make a better life for themselves, their families and their community. ESL offers students the opportunity to acquire the English language in a comfortable setting, using a life skills based curriculum that promotes self-sufficiency and strengthens students' ability to meet their persona, academic, and employment goals. We recruit highly engaged volunteer teachers and provide them with training in ESL teaching approaches and methodology. We also give volunteers first-rate resources and ongoing guidance, so that we are able to ensure the students receive superior English instruction that produces results. LaAmistad has three ESL locations and has become the largest community-based adult English as a Second Language program in Georgia. The program runs three 12 weeks sessions each year with 4 levels of instruction. A student must pass each level before moving on to the next.
LaAmistad's mission is to support Latino students and their families b providing a comprehensive support system through tutoring, mentoring and resources that promotes academic, physical, and personal growth.
Our vision is for Latino students and families throughout Georgia to thrive in their educational, personal and career pursuits working together to transform local communities.
Hours of operation: 10 AM-6PM
