Program Overview

Each year, more than 2,500 students from more than 50 countries study English at the Language Learning Center at Emily Griffith. The Language Learning Center offers programs and classes to meet the needs of our diverse student population including: -intensive, academic, and job-related English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, -intensive programs for refugees and civics -citizenship classes in our Pathways to Citizenship Program. The ESL faculty provide student-centered instruction, and all have the necessary experience, certifications, and degrees to ensure excellent classroom instruction. Many have advanced degrees, are industry thought leaders, and serve on boards of local and national organizations in TESOL, adult education, refugee empowerment, literacy, and accreditation bodies for ESL programs. Scholarships for ESL students to improve their English and to complete career and technical education are available.
