Easterseals of Northwest Alabama

Program Overview

Easterseals of Northwest Alabama is located at 1615 Trojan Drive in Muscle Shoals, AL. Our agency provides services for people with disabilities for residents of nine counties across the Northwest corner of the state. The counties in our service area include Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Marion, Morgan and Winston Counties. We also serve some resdients in the Walker County region. Our services include Literacy Assessment and Instruction, Speech Therapy for people with communication disorders, Job Readiness Classes, Job Development Classes, Job Placement, Job Coaching, Physical & Occupational Therapy, Vocational Rehabilitation, Workforce Skill classes, Workforce Development Training, and Classes for Driver Permit Training. Our goal is to meet the needs of the people with disabilities in our region. In carrying out our mission we also have a need for volunteers to assist us in this great work.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

“Noah" was about to graduate from high school, but was in need of Supported Employment assistance to successfully transition to the workforce. Our Consumer Job Coach “Donna," assisted with the application process, helping "Noah" improve his literacy and his interviewing and personal advocacy skills. Once hired at Texas Roadhouse he required some job coaching. Noah was hired as a host at Texas Roadhouse in Florence, spent over a year in that position and has recently accepted a better paying position with a manufacturing company in Florence, AL. “Donna" also assisted him with gaining the workforce skills required for this new position. Four months into his new position he continues to prove the success that people with disabilities can enjoy.
