Program Overview

GED & Post-Secondary Pathways Program – East Side House
The East Side House GED and Post-Secondary Pathways Program helps adults and young adults in the community who want to finish high school and go on to college, job training, or good jobs. Anyone who is not currently in school can join. Our program offers free GED classes, help getting ready for the GED test, and support every step of the way.

We also help students earn career certificates and get internships so they can learn real work skills and gain job experience. Staff help with college and job applications, financial aid, and building resumes. People in our program build long-term support with caring teachers and advisors who help them stay on track.

East Side House has been serving the Bronx since 1891. Our mission is to support people in learning and work so they can build strong and lasting futures. Classes and help are offered at East Side House locations in the Bronx in a friendly, welcoming place.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

“Before coming to East Side House, I didn't think school was for me anymore," said Fatoumata, a GED student. “The staff didn't give up on me. They helped me study for my GED, showed me how to apply for certifications, and connected me to an internship where I gained real work experience. Now I'm working toward a career and planning my next steps with confidence. East Side House didn't just help me pass a test; they helped me believe in myself again."
