Program Overview

Douglas County Libraries offers student centered One to One tutoring for students 17 and older in all levels of English as a Second Language, GED preparation, basic literacy and computer training at all of our libraries throughout Douglas County.

There is no cost for students to attend our program and Douglas County residents who demonstrate readiness to pass the GED with a score of 150 or higher are eligible for a voucher for their testing.

For qualified Douglas County residents who did not complete high school we also offer the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma online through an accredited program.

We are always seeking compassionate and caring volunteer tutors who are at least 21 years of age, have some college, are excited about learning, and can commit to a minimum term of three months for one hour per week.
