Program Overview

We will deliver a 12-month adult literacy program designed to help adults strengthen core reading, writing, math, and language skills needed for employment, daily living, and GED completion. The program will operate using a blended instructional model that combines structured classroom sessions, small-group learning, and individualized tutoring based on learner needs. Upon enrollment, each participant will complete an intake process and baseline assessment (TABE for ABE/GED learners and CASAS for ELA learners).

Instruction will be delivered weekly using evidence-based adult education strategies, including guided reading, phonics and vocabulary development, writing practice, numeracy instruction, and real-life application tasks. Lessons will be practical and workforce-aligned, covering skills such as completing forms, reading workplace documents, writing emails, understanding pay stubs, budgeting, and communicating effectively in professional settings. GED participants will receive targeted instruction aligned with subject-area standards and regular practice testing.
