Program Overview

English/Inglés Tutoring: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Reading and Writing

ESL Classes
  • Morning Classes: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM
  • Evening Classes: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Additional Programs

  • Citizenship Classes: Test preparation for citizenship exam
  • Health Literacy: Offered in spring
  • Financial Literacy: Offered in spring
  • Digital Literacy: Mondays 9am-11am
  • GED Classes (through NWACC): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – 5pm-8pm
  • Citizenship Classes: Test preparation for citizenship exam

When a potential student contacts DLC, he/she is interviewed, evaluated, and given a proficiency level. The student is then assigned a tutor and class schedule. Class sizes may vary, and one-on-one tutoring is available.

Cost Info

Vouchers are available for test takers. We are free.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Recently the Dogwood Literacy Council student experienced success through our U.S. citizenship class. A local student named Marina diligently attended classes and studied and through the help of a few local tutors, she passed her citizenship test with flying colors.
