Program Overview

ESL English as a Second Other Language Classes at DCET "LAESCUELITA" offers:

English skills in listening comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking and life skills
  • ESL LEVEL I DCET's “La Escuelita" in Irving is considered a CCA (Centro Comunitario de Aprendizaje) a Community Learning Center by the TEC of Monterrey University. Our ESL (English as a Second other language curricula)English Basic for Daily Life course is taught through this reputable University in Mexico.
  • ESL LEVEL II Intermediate students transition to Duolingo. An online platform that includes a language-learning website and mobile app, as well as a digital language-proficiency assessment exam.
  • ESL LEVEL III Advanced.

Students learn the skills they need to succeed in life.

This course is designed for high and advanced ESL students and provides intensive instruction in public speaking, reading, vocabulary building, listening and writing skills.

Advanced grammar and composition. A focus on listening, academic vocabulary, classroom communication, and American English pronunciation.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Paulina thought and expressed with tears: "I'm never going to make it." But her determination and long hours of study made it happen. Starting with Basic Literacy without knowing how to hold a pencil, she graduated from Elementary, then Secondary and was determined to lean English so she can pass the Citizenship test.
