Program Overview
Connecting Communities is a wrap-around program designed to improve the economic well-being of individuals in the Asian community in West Michigan. The program has four components: English as a Second Language Classes (with a focus on vocational English, or VESL); U.S. citizenship test study classes; job placement and internships; and professional development. The key program is the ESL/VESL classes for recent immigrants, non-English speaking persons and people with limited resources. Our courses will be offered in different languages and are taught by volunteers with backgrounds in ESL and education.

"I am always happy to come to class and learn more so I can communicate with my American friends. I will be able to communicate with my children's teacher and know their grade and what they have to do at home. When I learn English I will be able to get a better job, too.
