Comprehensive Reading Program

Program Overview

Comprehensive Confident Reading Program builds urban males to become confident readers. We link young males grades 3-5 with adult mentors for one-on-one coaching. We have seminars and workshops and students reading in group settings for reading improvement. Better Wiser Stronger provides hands on learning opportunities through reading challenges, literacy fairs, spelling bees, and fun reading activities. Our goal is that urban young males will build their self-esteem while taking adventures through reading and building confidence by improving their reading abilities.

Better Wiser Stronger does a excellent job helping students achieve academic goals. Since my son has participated in the tutoring program for the last two years he has become more confident and organized. I appreciate the program pairing the student with a tutor that would be the best fit to meet the student's academic needs. The tutors do a great job of building confidence within the students to help them achieve their goals.

Not only does BWS actively participate in the young men's education but they also assist in rearing them into young men. BWS has done a EXCEPTIONAL job with being consistent with offering programs such as Teach Me 2 Tie and how to give back into our communities. Keep up the GREAT WORK BWS!
