Program Overview

Community Center for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (CCDHH). Based in the Cleveland office, services range from literacy instruction and job-related skills training in The Learning Center to direct client assistance in interacting with government agencies, hospitals, and more --activities that are especially challenging for individuals with hearing loss. Support services are provided to individuals and families both on-site and in their homes and are tailored to their specific needs, regardless of their ability to pay. The Community Center for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing also hosts American Sign Language (ASL) classes and workshops at agencies that frequently deal with members of the D/deaf community.

The Community Center for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing's Learning Center, launched in 2015, was designed to teach D/deaf individuals and others with hearing loss essential skills to prepare them for successful careers amid the daily challenges associated with independent living, including reading instructions, filling out important paperwork, and
understanding job-related tasks.
