Program Overview
It is the mission of
Communities In Schools of Southeast Texas (CISSET) to surround students with a community of support,
empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CISSET develops
public/private partnerships to assist the educational system in keeping students
in school through direct involvement with the student and the student's family.
The drop our prevention program provides direct services and resources to
at-risk students with unmet needs. The goal is to meet the individual students
need by working closely in a coordinated and collaborative effort with school
personnel, parents, families, volunteers, business, and social service
agencies. CISSET is currently serving students from elementary in Beaumont ISD
and Port Arthur ISD. The high need areas are academic support, specifically in
the area of reading, writing, and math; attendance support; supportive guidance
and counseling; parental and family engagement, all of which CISSET
specializes.
