Program Overview

Columbus Early Learning Centers offers the ParentChild+ program through home-visiting and visiting home-based child care providers (small businesses offering early learning). It is a home-visit-based literacy program challenging educational inequity by increasing school readiness, enhancing literacy in the home, improving parent-child interaction and providing the family with community resources. PC+ Early Learning Specialists visit twice monthly and provide caregivers of young children with coaching, books, educational materials and guide sheets that support the facilitation of learning through play. The program lasts for two years and, once completed, staff work with parents to enroll the child into a high-quality pre-kindergarten or kindergarten program, helping transition each child.
