Program Overview

Colorado Springs School District 11 Family Literacy program provides a multi-generational learning experience for caregivers and children. Parents attend ESL, Adult Basic Education, or career boost classes while their children ages 8 weeks- 5 year participate in age-appropriate literacy classes. We have an Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classroom with trained early childhood education teachers. Adults and children attend classes twice a week for 3 hours each day. Families also participate in our Parent and Child Time twice a week where teachers provide caregivers with literacy-based activities they can use at home to help promote their children's kindergarten readiness.
