Program Overview

The Youth Enrichment Services (YES), a WIOA initiative begun in May 2002, enables out-of-school youth in Coffee, Covington, Dale, and Geneva Counties to obtain the GED or online accredited high school diploma, gain work-readiness and basic occupational skills, access career pathway and post-secondary information, participate in field trips and leadership activities, and earn monetary incentives. The Youth Enrichment Services is a registered 501(c) (3). Ages served are 17 (16 if court-ordered or not having attended school in the last school calendar quarter) through 24. Other special criteria to enter the program include scoring at least a 6.0 level in both reading and math based on the TABE 9/10, as well as successfully completing a brief probationary period (2 to 4 weeks) to determine commitment to program goals, to exhibit logistical and practical ability to attend class, and to pose no perceived threat to other participants or staff. Youth Enrichment Services is a non-entitlement program.
