Circles of Troup County

Program Overview

Circles of Troup County is a nonprofit launched in 2012 by Troup County Center for Strategic Planning to address the growing population of people living at or below the federal poverty guidelines. Circles is a chapter of CirclesUSA, the result of 20 years of research and the development of leadership tools for communities. The organization exists to inspire and equip families and communities to thrive and resolve poverty.

Participants receive intensive education including financial literacy, SMART goals and job readiness. Circles partners with education programs including GED classes, technical school programs and two local colleges to direct participants to the best fit for ongoing education. At the same time, Circles provides support systems to help people reach their educational goals.

At the same time as adults work on their goals, Circles Kids meets. In that program, the children learn much of what their parents learn including successful strategies for school, financial literacy and goal-setting.
